Transportation
The preferred method of transportation in this neighbourhood is usually driving. Most real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, and coming across a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, Northfield is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are commonly nearby. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Northfield, although meeting daily needs is easy.
Services
Daycares and primary schools are convenient to reach on foot from most homes for sale in this part of the city. On the other hand, there are no high schools in Northfield. As far as food is concerned, it is often possible for house buyers in Northfield to purchase their groceries by walking. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.
Character
Northfield offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. The noise levels in this part of Nanaimo are quite low, as the streets are reasonably calm - although that is not the case close to the railway line. Finally, there are around 10 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Beban Park and Bowen Park, and they are very well-spread out, making them easy to get to.
