This township is also not very bike-friendly since the cycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there is a considerable amount of hills.

There are only a very small number of primary schools in North Dumfries and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Likewise, this part of the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area does not contain any high schools. Furthermore, parents and their schoolchildren may find it very difficult to reach daycares on foot. In terms of eating, in all cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries.
Character
North Dumfries is reasonably good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to Highway 401 or the railway line. Getting to green spaces, including Piper's Glen Park and Schmidt Park, is rather challenging from a large number of locations in the township since they are spread out sporadically.
