Transportation
Driving is a great transportation option in this part of the town. It is very easy to park, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Highway 407, from anywhere in this part of Oakville. On the other hand, Glenorchy is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and most houses are close to a bus stop. The bike is a rather poor means of transportation in this neighbourhood as there are a good number of hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very extensive. It is also challenging for pedestrians to move around in this area as few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.
Services
A portion of property owners in Glenorchy may be able to do their grocery shopping by walking, while others will have to turn to another means of transportation. There are also a few options for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity. When it comes to education, primary schools are easy to walk to from most properties for sale in this area. On the other hand, Glenorchy does not contain any high schools.
Character
The character of Glenorchy is exemplified by its calm environment. It is easy to reach green spaces from numerous locations in the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to enjoy, like East Morrison Creek Trail and Neyagawa Woods. This area is also reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially around Highway 407.
