Transportation

Regardless of the mode of transportation, it is convenient to move around in Town Centre. Thanks to a few nearby bus lines, residents can count on public transit to move around in this neighbourhood. Active home buyers will also appreciate the pedestrian-friendly nature of this part of Pickering; most daily needs are easy to meet without the use of a car. Biking is challenging in Town Centre since the cycling network is quite bad, and there are a good number of hills to challenge cyclists.

Services

Parents and their children will welcome that wherever their home is situated in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are nearby. In contrast, there are no high schools in Town Centre. When it comes to food, the closest supermarket in Town Centre is usually only a short walk away. Additionally, there is often a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. A decent choice of clothing stores can also be found within a rather short walking distance.

Character

Due to the presence of few pedestrians, Town Centre remains relatively quiet, although noise levels are higher closer to the railway line or Highway 401. Public green spaces are distributed sporadically, which makes it very difficult to access them.
