The car is very often the favoured transportation option in Vieux-Bourg. It is very convenient to access a place to park, and it is a very short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, from any location in this area. On the other hand, the public transit service in Vieux-Bourg is not very frequent. Thankfully, property owners are served by approximately 20 bus lines, and it is very convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Vieux-Bourg is not particularly suited for cycling as there is a significant amount of hills. Thankfully, the bicycling network is reasonably well-developed. Walking in this part of the city is also not very popular, even though most daily needs are convenient to meet without having to use a vehicle.

Property owners in Vieux-Bourg will value that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. There are also approximately 10 restaurants and cafes in this neighbourhood. Character
Vieux-Bourg is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. Parks are especially well-distributed and there are about 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes them easy to reach. This area is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, Autoroute Félix-Leclerc or the railway line.
