In contrast, commuting by public transit is difficult in Saint-Émile. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by about 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close. Although there are a fair number of bike lanes, moving around by bicycle is at times difficult in this part of the city because bicycle riders are faced with quite a few hills. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not especially suitable for walking since few daily needs can be met on foot.

House buyers in this part of Québec will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their schoolchildren will welcome that wherever their property is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are close by. However, this area does not contain any high schools.
