However, Cumberland is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the village is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily relatively close by. It is inconvenient for people travelling on foot to navigate Cumberland since running common errands is difficult.

In addition, daycares are not particularly plentiful and accordingly not always within walking distance. In terms of food, it is very rarely feasible for home buyers in this part of the Greater Courtenay metropolitan area to reach the closest supermarket on foot. Cumberland is fairly good for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several louder sections, especially around Inland Island Highway.
