Lakeside is an extremely good part of Pointe-Claire for moving around by car. Many real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, and it is very easy to access a place to park. However, getting around by public transit is difficult in Lakeside. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. Getting around by bicycle is difficult in Lakeside as cyclists encounter a considerable amount of hills, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive. This part of Pointe-Claire is also not very suitable for those who travel by foot because common amenities such as laundromats or hair salons can be an occasionally long walk away.

Families will value the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from most homes for sale in Lakeside. However, there are no high schools in this part of the city. As far as eating is concerned, property owners in Lakeside often have to turn to a car to travel to the closest supermarket.
